An Eye is An eYE is aN eye is an eYe(film)

2025 – Experimental video – 15mn 29sec – color – stereo
An eye is an eye is an eye is an eye is a film that explores the transformation of the eye in the age of computer vision. It questions what happens to our visual perception when it is automated and reduced to statistical operations. Faced with the proliferation of cameras equipped with automated recognition systems, the work reveals how machines interpret and simplify an immense visual field, beyond the reach of the human eye. The film’s images, taken from surveillance cameras, are analyzed and deployed within a fiction of anticipation that questions the creation of meaning from the visible and the simplification of reality to become “readable” by machines. By exposing this new visual world, the work questions modern visual culture, dominated by interactions between machines, where the human becomes secondary.
