Déjà-Vu

2024 – Video installation

Sensitive billboards, caring mirrors, doors that open by themselves to please me. Every day, I am scrutinised by a multitude of devices, consciously or unconsciously, voluntarily or not.

Who am I, when the gaze of these observing machines falls on me, can I become someone else? Am I assigned to physical characteristics or clichés?

The ‘Déjà-vu’ installation, like a distorting mirror, offers a glimpse into the skewed imaginations of statistical visual analysis and the clichés conveyed by image-generation tools.

Faced with these benevolent gazes, are we all déjà-vu?
